Product Intro

Argus XT and Argus MT both are a type of box mod vape kit that was launched together by Voopoo.

Both of them offer a 100w max power output and deliver a sub-ohm vaping. Also, the appearance of Argus XT and MT is extremely similar. The sub-ohm tank they adopt is the MAAT vape tank which is an improved version of their 2019 MAAT tank. Their mode is IP68-rated, which both provide four output modes: Smart, Turbo, RBA, and TC.

The big difference between them is the batteries. The MT features a 3000mAh built-in battery, while the XT can support one single external battery including 21700, 20700, and 18650.

Appearance

Argus XT and MT are both well-wrapped in a stainless box. The mod is both constructed with leather and zinc alloy as well as shaped in a brick-house style, giving me a comfortable grip.

The color I chose is white for MT and silver gray for XT, which looks pretty adorable as I anticipated. There is a display screen in the middle of the two mods.

A power button is above the screen, and the up and down button and charging port seat are below the screen. Happily, the USB port is covered by a cap that can avoid dust.

The number of buttons in the two devices is the same, the most distinctive part is that the placement of the QS watt locking mechanism differs: XT’s placed on the top of the mod, while MT’s is set below the screen.

On the top of the mod, you can find a lanyard there, which is a useless design in my view. As the mod weighs a big weight, if I wear it on my neck, it absolutely will discomfort me.

At the bottom of the mod, the Argus XT requires popping in an external battery, while Argus MT does not need it. This grounds the most recognize point for these two box mod kits.

The WATT tank is solid and can contain 2ml vape juice. The airflow adjustment is near the connecting base, allowing me to slide from the left to the right.

As to the coil packed, the XT owns a lower resistance of 0.15 ohm, even though both XT and MT kits are compatible with TPP coils ranging from 0.05 ohm to 3.0-ohm resistance.

Basic Operations

To make you a clear mind to navigate the XT and MT vape, here is a note that can help you. For the VooPoo Argus XT box mod, I use a 21700 battery to ensure I can select a maximum wattage of 100w.

Power ON/OFF: Click the fire button 5 times.

Switch to the Menu: Hold the up and down buttons, and you can see four items in the menu: MODE, SETTING, ABOUT DEVICE, and EXIT. In the MODE area, you can select your favorite mod, the TC mode allow you to customize the temperature and save it as M1, M2, or M3. the SETTING area enables you clear puffs, change display brightness, and decide the display time of the screen. You can get the chip ID and level code in the ABOUT YOUR DEVICE option.

Choose options: Use the up or down buttons to switch the options.

Confirm the result: Click the fire button when you’ve made your choice.

Adjust Watts: Use the up or down buttons to adjust your power output, if hold either button, you can speed up the process.

Clear puffs: hold the down button and fire button at the same time.

QS locking: For XT, slide the dial to the left to lock the watts and still can power on the kit; slide the dial to the middle to unlock the watts, the right side means completely locking the whole device.

For MT, there are two options, turn the slider to the left to unlock the watts, and turn to the right to lock everything.

Performance

To start vaping, I prepared a high-VG e-liquid for DTL vaping. I primed a 0.2 coil and installed it in the MATT tank, saturated it with vape juice for about ten minutes.

Five quick clicking to turn on the Argus MT device for the beginning. I chose the SMART mode so that it automates a 50W power output for me. To get a higher output, I used the up and down button to adjust the watts to the upper limit of 80W in this smart mode.

Hold the fire button to vape, I sensed the force of this mod and exhale a large amount of vapour. On top of that, the flavour tastes enchanting and natural. I want to make a looser drag and widely open the airflow. It is sheer great, which is an authentic DTL vaping experience.

Switching the tank to the XT mode, I picked Turbo mode to try the most powerful inhalation. The vapour is denser than the 80w watts, the flavour seemed to be richer and more fragrant. To be frank, both Argus kits provided me with forceful vaping and marvelous performance on flavour vaporization.

Battery Life and Charging

As the VooPoo Argus MT is equipped with an internal battery of 3000mAh capacity, I test its charging time of it. It took me around 80 minutes for a full recharge. It is not a long time for charging a high-capacity battery. VooPoo did a good job in this aspect.

Owing to the Argus XT using an external battery, it is somehow can refer to the standard charging time of a 21700 battery or 18650 battery. For a 21700 battery, the normal charging time is 4 hours. How long it takes to charge a battery depends on the battery type, charger voltage, and amperage.

Verdict

The Voopoo Argus XT & MT is an amazing improvement to the Argus collection. Both mods have multiple functional options and proofs.

If you don’t want to buy an extra battery and prefer a compacter kit, you can choose the Argus MT Box Mod Kit. If you are a heavier vaper, the Argus XT is ideal for you since it can replace a new 21700 or 18650 battery when the battery runs out.
